A Solution Concept for Majority Rule in Dynamic Settings∗

چکیده
We define and explore the notion of a Dynamic Condorcet Winner (DCW), which extends the notion of a Condorcet winner to dynamic settings. We show that, for every DCW, every member of a large class of dynamic majoritarian games has an equivalent equilibrium, and that other equilibria are not similarly portable across this class of games. Existence of DCWs is guaranteed when members of the community are sufficiently patient. We characterize sustainable and unsustainable outcomes, study the effects of changes in the discount factor, investigate efficiency properties, and explore the potential for achieving renegotiation-proof outcomes. We apply this solution concept to a standard one-dimensional choice problem wherein agents have single-peaked preferences, as well as to one involving the division of a fixed aggregate payoff. ∗We would like to thank Avinash Dixit, Roger Myerson, Antonio Rangel, members of the Public Economics Group at Stanford University, participants at various seminar presentations, and several anonymous referees for helpful comments. An Iterative Decision Rule to minimize cost of Acceptance Sampling Plan in Machine Replacement Problem
In this paper, we presented an optimal iterative decision rule for minimizing total cost in designing a sampling plan for machine replacement problem using the approach of dynamic programming and Bayesian inferences. Cost of replacing the machine and cost of defectives produced by machine has been considered in model. Concept of control threshold policy has been applied for decision making. If ...

This paper deals with the numerical solution of a class of reaction diffusion equations arises from ecological phenomena. When two species are introduced into unoccupied habitat, they can spread across the environment as two travelling waves with the wave of the faster reproducer moving ahead of the slower. The mathematical modelling of invasions of species in more complex settings that include ...
متن کاملLeadership and Leadership Development in Healthcare Settings – A Simplistic Solution to Complex Problems?
There is a trend in health systems around the world to place great emphasis on and faith in improving ‘leadership’. Leadership has been defined in many ways and the elitist implications of traditional notions of leadership sit uncomfortably with modern healthcare organisations. The concept of distributed leadership incorporates inclusivity, collectiveness and collaboration, with the result that...
متن کاملModels, solution, methods and their applicability of dynamic location problems (DLPs) (a gap analysis for further research)
Determining the best location to be profitable for the facility’s lifetime is the important decision of public and private firms, so this is why discussion about dynamic location problems (DLPs) is a critical significance. This paper presented a comprehensive review from 1968 up to most recent on published researches about DLPs and classified them into two parts. First, mathematical models deve...

Dynamic Assessment is an approach to assessment within Applied Linguistics which is stemmed from Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory of mind, his concept of Zone of Proximal Development and Feuerstein's theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability. This study is an attempt to pinpoint the sources of mental processing problems in listening comprehension and applies dynamic interventions to remove t...
